Ciao caro Joe, sono rimasto molto toccato dalla triste notizia della tua scomparsa. Ti ricordo con grande affetto come bravissimo musicista, generoso insegnante e amico. Grazie per l'amore verso la musica che hai saputo trasmettere con grande competenza. Un grande abbraccio

Joe and I first met nearly 48 years ago to the day, when we were randomly assigned to the same temporary dorm room for July summer freshman orientation at Indiana University. He, a trombone player from the Gulf Coast of Texas and me, a moody tuba player from Minnesota quickly became great friends and eventually roommates our junior and senior years. Mature beyond his years, Joe taught me so much about life, about the world and, most importantly, about how to become a better musician. He cajoled, inspired, supported, challenged and never judged. Halfway through our senior year, he moved to Torino and never looked back. We lost touch over the years, as people do, eventually reconnecting a couple of years ago first through video chats and ultimately through great group chats in which we all discussed politics, food, music and all things Negroni. In that time, he became an anchor to an incredibly meaningful time in my life and I am absolutely heartbroken he is gone. I will miss my friend Joe more than I can find the words to say.

Joe, ricordi il periodo trascorso insieme all'Università dell'Indiana? E nell'Orchestra della Rai a Torino? Che divertimento abbiamo avuto! Da quando ti conosco, hai sempre dato più di quanto hai preso. Sempre presente, disposto ad aiutare chiunque. La tua scomparsa ha lasciato un grande vuoto nei nostri cuori. Ricorderò e custodirò sempre la tua generosità, la tua musicalità, il tuo meraviglioso modo di suonare, il tuo umorismo e la tua passione per tutto ciò che hai fatto nella vita. Grazie per la tua incredibile amicizia e generosità, e per tutto ciò che hai fatto per me nel corso degli anni. Dormi bene, Tex. Joe, do you remember our time together at Indiana University? And in the Rai Orchestra in Turin? What fun we had! For as long as I have known you, you have always given more than you have taken. Always there, willing to help anyone. Your passing has left a great void in our hearts. I will always remember and cherish your generosity, your musicality, your wonderful playing, your humor and your passion for everything you did in life. It was with great sadness that I learned of Joe's passing. He was a great musician and friend to many. I will cherish all of the our time together at Indiana University, and be in awe of the career Joe had; affecting countless students, colleagues, and his fellow humans and four legged friends. Joe was an artist, scholar, and husband whose contributions to his art will live on forever.

ELEGANZA E PRIVACY, COMODITÀ D’ACCESSO, ORARIO, PARCHEGGIO

La Casa del Commiato Giubileo, in Corso Bramante 58, è l’alternativa ideale alla camera ardente a casa o in ospedale. Facile da raggiungere con i mezzi pubblici, dotata di un parcheggio riservato, offre eleganza, privacy, comodità d’orario (apertura continuata ore 9-18, chiuso nelle festività civili e religiose). Dispone di dieci salette, decorate dalle opere del pittore Carlo Galfione, ognuna delle quali comprende la camera ardente, un salotto e i servizi. Ogni saletta è perciò una realtà a sé, un ambiente raccolto nel quale onorare chi ci ha lasciati e condividere il dolore della scomparsa.

Alle salette si accede da una grande corte centrale, caratterizzata da elementi simbolici che ispirano pace e raccoglimento: un prato, un albero, un ruscello. Un contesto ovviamente ben diverso dalle camere mortuarie delle strutture, che in qualcuno causano una sensazione di freddezza e disagio.

Ci sono inoltre alcuni ambienti comuni: tra essi l’ampia hall, con un piccolo bar; una saletta attrezzata con giocattoli, per l’eventuale sosta di bambini in compagnia di un assistente; una sala multimediale, per chi intenda celebrare una “cerimonia del ricordo” con musiche e proiezioni d’immagini.
